Cold open[]

Inside the cathedral nave, Clare goes down, wounded by the Voracious Eater.[7]

Clear path of attack[]

The Yoma makes for Galk and Sid. But a dagger puts out the Yoma's eye—the dagger is Clare's. She pushes Sid out of harms-way and stops the Yoma's claws from piercing Galk. But the claws pierce Clare instead.[8]

The Yoma tosses Clare aside. Pike-bearing guards enter the nave. Outnumbered, the Yoma vanishes. Clare lies critically wounded. Despite Sid's protests, Galk picks up the unconscious Clare and carries her to Father Vincent's bedroom.[9]

Coma[]

The next morning, Sid retrieves Raki from the inn. He brings Raki to the bedroom, where Clare lies unconscious.[10]

After a heated argument between Sid and Raki, Galk advises Raki to keep his faith in Clare's recovery. Raki keeps a bedside vigil for two days, praying for Clare's recovery.[11]
